"Before it was an Iron Tribe Fitness, the gray-painted brick building at 215 E. Worthington Ave. in Dilworth was an auto body shop owned by Michael Jordan's father, James."

South End’s first cigar and whiskey lounge opens this week with over 1,000 varieties of cigars and an expansive patio.

The Vintage aims to fill a void in the area by providing an exclusive and eclectic portfolio of cigars and spirits that you won’t find in many places around town.

Expect sophisticated, carefully curated hand-selected whiskies. “Yes, Charlotte is a bourbon city, but we hope to educate people on the wonders of many others,” said Ben Torres, general manager.
The lounge will feature a custom-built walk-in humidor fully stocked with over 1,000 types of cigars for all palates along with a drink pairing menu. Here, you’ll find a more elevated inventory of cigars ranging anywhere from $10 to $30 for those harder-to-find cigars.

The Vintage Whiskey and Cigar Bar will be opening its doors on Friday in Charlotte as South End’s first upscale cigar lounge with over 1,000 varieties of cigars and hand-picked whiskey to enjoy.

Bar officials describe “The Vintage Experience” offered at the lounge as exceptional hand-rolled cigars, crafted cocktails, local beers, boutique curated wines, and an espresso bar in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Maybe it’s because I am extremely sophisticated as a 28-year-old, or maybe it’s because The Vintage’s house blend — by cigar curator Giannis Koutsoupias — is of some extraordinary cultivation, but at the point when I should have left, I ordered another.

Bar owners around Charlotte have been anxiously awaiting the new changes in the executive order. Ben Torres, the general manager of The Vintage Whiskey and Cigar Bar, says the end of the curfew and the extra two hours of alcohol sales makes a big difference when it comes to bringing in customers.

Sit back and relax at this new members-only whiskey and cigar lounge featuring a stocked bar and over 1,000 types of cigars. Membership options vary and include perks such as 10% off cigars and guest passes. When the weather warms up, expect the garage door to be open for easy access to their roomy patio.
